Eyebrow microblading in Essex, UK

What is eyebrow microblading?

Microblading is a beauty process that applies semi-permanent eyebrows using a hand held tool that has extremely small needles. Similar to a tattoo in terms of the procedure, but differing in the fact that they generally last up to three years or in some instances indefinitely, microblading is a wonderful way to add some flattering definition and a fuller look to your eyebrows in a way that perfectly complements your skin tone.

There are a few different styles and treatments when it comes to microblading, from applying individual “brush strokes” to create the illusion of natural hair, to adding a series of very fine dots to replicate a shading effect or even something in-between for those looking to enhance fullness and colour.

Brow microblading technique

We use state-of-art microblading techniques and only the very best equipment to achieve the finest quality microblading results. Microblading, like tattooing, is a skill and Moon Aesthetics are highly trained and experienced in all artistic styles and sanitation methods.

You will leave our salon glowing and full of joy after seeing the natural beauty and enhanced shape of your new brows.

How long does eyebrow microblading last?

When done properly, microblading treatments can last up to three years. Think how much time and money this will save you when you no longer have to perfect your eyebrows every morning, touch them up during the day, or re-apply them after some time spent swimming or relaxing in a sauna.

Being a semi-permanent makeup solution which works on the same principles as tattooing, it is not totally uncommon for these eyebrows to last for many, many years beyond the average 3 year period.

Microblading FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions

Does microblading hurt?

Most of our customers say that the pain involved with microblading is only very moderate and it hurts significantly less than a typical tattoo as we use a specially-formulated numbing cream. Obviously, this will depend on your personal tolerance to pain and it is a procedure that involves piercing the skin so you should expect some discomfort. Our staff will however make sure you feel comfortable during the procedure and we can take a short break if you need us to.

How much is microblading?

Prices vary. Please check prices page.

When can I wash my eyebrows after microblading?

As a rule of thumb, we would say to wait at least 10 days before washing your newly microbladed brows, but this will vary per person and how long it takes for your eyebrows to heal and cleanse themselves.

Can you get microblading if you're pregnant?

We wouldn't recommend getting your eyebrows microbladed when you're pregnant. This is still a cosmetic procedure and may exacerbate hyperpigmentation that some people suffer from when pregnant.

Why does microblading disappear during healing?

As microblading pierces and damages the skin to insert the pigment, the body's natural reaction is to heal the light injury by scabbing over the layer of the skin. In the first seven to fourteen days you may experience some shedding or flaking of the skin. This is entirely normal and although you may see some fade, the pigment will reappear, albeit slightly lighter, once the healing process is fully complete.

How do you patch test for microblading?

To make sure you don't experience an allergic reaction to the treatment, we will patch test you before we begin. This involves adding some of the pigment we will use to an inconspicuous area of the skin such as the scalp. Our staff will talk you through the entire patch testing process during your initial consultation when we will ask about your previous treatments or medical conditions.
