How long do lip fillers take?
How long it will take to complete lip injections can depend on different factors. For example, the amount of lip filler required. The more lip filler that is injected, the longer it can take. Generally, the procedure takes around 5-30 minutes. The process is straightforward and quick.
Can you get lip fillers while pregnant?
It is not advised to get lip fillers whilst pregnant. This is due to the fact that lip fillers have not been tested on pregnant women, so the level of safety is unknown. The NHS recommends against having muscle-relaxing procedures such as botox during pregnancy, which is why we do not advise carrying out similar procedures on pregnant women.
How to massage lip filler lumps?
Soft lumps on the lips are common after lip filler. As long as the lumps are not hard and rubbery, they can be massaged to flatten them. Lumps that appear after lip filler is usually undissolved filler so they can be dispersed. A firm massage on the soft lumps should allow them to disperse.
Can you smoke after lip fillers?
Due to the fact that lip fillers should not be touched straight after the procedure, it is best to avoid smoking for around 24 hours. After this length of time, it is perfectly okay to do so. Smoking 24 hours after lip fillers should not cause any harm or infections.
How long does lip filler swelling last?
Swelling and redness of the area after lip filler is to be expected. Swelling should go down after a few hours or by the next day. The amount of lip filler has an impact on the amount of swelling that you may experience. Side effects should wear off completely within two weeks.
How to reduce swelling after lip filler?
The most common and easiest way of reducing swelling after lip filler is by applying a cold compress to the area. This can relieve pain and reduce swelling by a significant amount. Avoid heat sources and exercise as they can impact swelling.
Can you drink alcohol after lip fillers?
Consuming alcohol after lip fillers should be avoided for 24 hours as the area is extremely sensitive and should not be touched. After 24 hours, alcohol consumption is entirely safe. However, be aware that alcohol thins the blood and therefore can increase swelling and bruising of the lips. If this is okay with you, feel free to have a drink!
Can you eat after lip fillers?
It is perfectly safe to eat after the procedure if numbing cream has not been applied. If numbing cream has been used, it is advised to wait until the cream has worn off as it can be dangerous to eat with numb lips as it may cause you to choke. Easy foods are recommended, such as ice cream, which can help soothe the lips.
