How long do lip fillers take?
The length of time it will take to finish the procedure can range depending on elements such as the amount of lip filler required. The more lip filler you would like, the longer the process can take. Generally, the procedure takes around 5-30 minutes. The process should not take long.
Can you get lip fillers while pregnant?
Lip injections whilst pregnant are not recommended as they have not been tested on pregnant women, so its safety is unknown. The NHS advises that having muscle-relaxing procedures such as botox during pregnancy should not be carried out, which is why we do not carry similar treatments on pregnant women.
How to massage lip filler lumps?
Soft lumps on the lips can occur after lip filler. As long as the lumps are not hard and rubbery, they can be massaged to reduce the swelling. These lumps are usually undissolved filler, meaning they can be dispersed. Giving them a firm massage should allow them to flatten.
Can you smoke after lip fillers?
As lip fillers cannot be touched straight after the procedure, it is best to avoid smoking for around 24 hours afterwards. Once this time is up, it is perfectly okay to do so. Smoking 24 hours after lip fillers should not cause any harm or infections.
How long does lip filler swelling last?
Swelling and redness of the area are to be expected after the procedure. These side effects should wear off after a few hours or by the next day. The volume of lip filler used will affect the amount of swelling. Side effects should wear off completely within two weeks.
How to reduce swelling after lip filler?
Applying a cold compress to the area is the easiest way to reduce swelling after lip filler. This can also relieve any pain you are still experiencing and minimise swelling by a considerable amount. Avoid heat sources and exercise as they can increase swelling.
Can you drink alcohol after lip fillers?
Alcohol consumption after having lip fillers should be avoided for 24 hours as the area will be sensitive, and you should refrain from touching them. After 24 hours, consuming alcohol is safe. Be aware that alcohol thins the blood and therefore can increase swelling and bruising of the lips. If you feel you can deal with this, feel free to have a drink!
Can you eat after lip fillers?
It is perfectly safe to eat after the treatment if numbing cream has not been used. If numbing cream has been applied, you should wait until the cream has worn off. It can be dangerous to eat with numb lips as it may cause you to choke. Easy foods are recommended, such as ice cream, which can help soothe the lips.
